From Goodreads:

How do we find the courage to always be true to ourselves—even if we are unsure of whom we are?

That is the central question of international bestselling author Paulo Coelho's profound new work, The Witch of Portobello. It is the story of a mysterious woman named Athena, told by the many who knew her well—or hardly at all.

My Thoughts:

This is the story of a unique young woman told by those who knew her. It was very different and unlike anything I'd ever read before. Athena had a very unique personality, exploring different paths to God to find herself and her beliefs, she was a force of nature to those who knew her. I would hate to say too much about a novel that gives the reader information at the precise moment it is needed for the proper effect.

There were some elements of this character and story that were a little beyond my frame of reference, but I am glad that I read it. It was a truly unique and valued read.
